Athletes the world over have been grasping at their chest since 2020. What are the chances that suffering a rare event such as commotio cordis was made more likely due to cardiac damage from the vaccine? Evidence of cardiac injury from Covid vaccines is no secret; dozens of peer reviewed articles have published confirming cardiac damage post vaccine, particularly for those of Hamilton’s age.

Time will tell I guess.

Honestly, seems premature to diagnose. And while it's probable, given the angle of the tackle (high, not direct on the chest), the odds seem like a 1 in a billion event. Which makes me wonder if he had any condition that predisposed him to the event. Hopefully, for all of us, we will learn.

Super interesting to note that. From what I have read, many healthcare professionals are saying it was commotio cordis. Only time will tell I guess. It's scary to think that these players have more than concussions to worry about now.

Wearable technology that monitors vitals both on and off the field can be extremely useful in such conditions. In sports, for example, such technology can help coaches and trainers better understand the physical demands being placed on athletes, identify patterns that may lead to injury, and ensure that athletes are properly conditioned and trained. Off the field, wearable technology can help people track their own health and wellness, allowing them to identify potential health issues before they become serious problems.

But how can this be used in relation to the case here? What wearable technology could have been used to track in real time the event that occurred with Damar?

I think the quick conclusions seem to be a semi-authoritative way to say "it wasn't the vaccine, so don't ask". But I wouldn't rule it out as a possible contributor to an underlying condition - if we are going to stay open-minded about it.

I haven’t seen a case like this ever in my life. As a cardiologist I do believe it was commotio cordis and this is something we have only read about in medical books. Awesome article Louisa

Why is it outrageous to question if he could have had myocarditis caused from the mRNA shots.

Even if myocarditis were found to have contributed to Hamlin’s injury, it would more likely stem from “plain, old viral myocarditis” than from a vaccine reaction, especially since the vast majority of cases related to COVID-19 shots occur within a week of vaccination.
