This is a pretty cool write-up. I remember seeing some fitness startups designed to train an athlete's field-of-view.

Cool seeing another example it being applied in the field!

A very good general discussion, but there are many nuances that separate the Academy player from the Internationals ... If you want to see how to truly affect vision in these athletes - take a look at the recently released movie about my work with Trent Alexander Arnold of Liverpool FC. This is the shorter 10-minute version https://youtu.be/4FHPOx-jAoo and this is the full 45-minute movie https://www.redbull.com/int-en/films/trents-vision Both are excellent!

It is not the eyes that see, it is the brain. We can train any body part's muscle tissue to perform more optimally including the eye muscles, but most importantly we train the brains ability to utilize those tissues, by enhancing the connection to them. Next is processing of data, which can be done at faster rates when the same action is performed thousands of times. Prediction is the most crucial element of the brain's processing of the visual data, and this is the element which should be developed. The better the prediction of trajectory and ball location, the less the eyes will be used. The majority of the entire action-reaction then takes place in the mind only. Improve prediction, improve the player. :)

With the long and punishing domestic season, I think the quality of euros might be impacted. I expect more goals, defensive lapses.

🇫🇷 France look strongest on paper and will be tough to beat - but they also have players who have had the longest season. Will be interesting to see how this impacts their performance (pogba played Europa league finals, Kante the champions league finals and so on)

Would love to see if we have time on ball data for Barcelona / Spain teams of 2010s - they were on a league of their own when it came to recirculating passes and opening up spaces
