With two copies of this gene, you can double your risk of developing this devastating condition, proving that life isn't always fair. Even if you don't have the gene, aging still increases your chances, making it seem like no matter what you do, Alzheimer's will still creep up on you.
But don't lose hope - animal studies have found that heat shock proteins, nutrition and exercise can at least offer some protection against it.
So, while Alzheimer's may be looming in your future, there may still be some hope.
